This release corrects several problems related to password protected file handling, site configuration quirks, NAT-T in main mode, a difficult to trigger buffer overflow and much more. The fourth Shrew Soft VPN Client 2.0.1 Beta Release is now available for download. This release adds support for FreeBSD 7, corrects a locking problem for Unix targets and fixes other minor bugs. The Windows install and uninstall packages have also been enhanced to avoid several different problematic situations.

The third Shrew Soft VPN Client 2.0.1 Beta Release is now available for download. This release corrects a regression that was causing unnecessary modecfg exchanges to be initiated with some gateways. It also provides improved support for using iked as a full replacement for racoon when the host is acting as an IPSEC gateway.

The second Shrew Soft VPN Client 2.0.1 Beta Release is now available for download. This release corrects a serious regression related to DNS and WINS server configuration on win32. It also corrects a long standing interoperability issue with Cisco VPN Gateways and improves configuration attribute handling. A new debug options is also included that allows the DNS transparent proxy daemon to dump processed packets.

The first Shrew Soft VPN Client 2.0.1 Beta Release is now available for download. Not only does this mark the first beta release that includes native AMD64 XP operating system support, but also the first to fully support the FreeBSD, NetBSD and Linux based operating systems. Our goal is to ensure this product is as useful and stable as possible. Once all reported bugs have been addressed, the final 1.0 package will be posted for download. Until that time, its never too late to report any issues you may have encountered.

The Shrew Soft VPN client now supports all features planned for the 1.0 release. A lot of work was done to bring it in line with the ipsec-tools CVS version. This includes support for new XAuth user authentication methods as well as automatic policy configuration using the extended modecfg facility.
